My first lecture of Business Law was on Jan 21st. I’m quite excited and eager to learn this subject after given the review of this subject by our lecturer Mr. Sonny Zulhuda. After the class learning, I know some basic about law. Speaking of Business Law or Law, I've been experienced dealing with law matter involving my accident case.
During my foundation study in MMU Melaka, I was hit by a motorcycle (owned by US Pizza SND BHD). The motorcyclist is the US Pizza delivery boy who going to deliver pizza to customers. I was very sure when I crossed the road there was no vehicle at that time. In the middle of the road, there's a very fast motorcycle ride by a man hit my friend and I. it happened very fast. I got serious injuries and need to take out a blood clot from my head. I was sent to nearby hospital, Hospital Pantai Ayer Keroh and was referred to neurologist for the operation and been hospitalized for almost 1 month and continued follow up check up and refer to physiotherapist.
My court case started in 2007. sue letter was sent to US Pizza to pay the compensation for my medical cost that my parents bear at Hospital Pantai Melaka which is around rm30k. The lawyer called me and said they only want to pay RM2k only. The reason is because their company going to bankrupt. To be truth, I not satisfied with my lawyer. I said I don’t want 2k, but my lawyer said my police report was weak and my medical report did not state any physical disability after the accident. Supposedly he helps me to get the reasonable compensation. . The problem here is, my insurance was due a week before my accident. We were 50% to win. The us pizza motorcycle road tax expire about 3 months before. I went to SSM to check the company financial. that company is stable not like what they said felt my lawyer not really help me in this case because of...hmm(sensitive issue in Malaysia).I had been call by court for 5 times for this case but we only negotiated outside the court. From rm2k they increased to rm1ok. 10k was the highest that the company can pay. It’s very frustrated because each time this case called, I came from cyberjaya to melaka.since I know no one expert in Law or any lawyer I felt really disappointed.
After the accident I faced a lot of difficulties in study. Formerly I was engineering student for 2 years and I changed to marketing course after I could not carry tough subject. I always feel dizzy and can’t stand pressure. My emotional was really destructive for that situation
In 2009, I found a new lawyer for my case. He did a great job where he managed to get 85% of my medical fees. Well, I don’t hope to get 100% compensation of my medical fees but at least a reasonable amount for me to cover my study fees that I failed to get loan. Still I have to pay the lawyer fees.
This case leaves me a lot of experience dealing with law. I also realize, it's very important for everyone to know at lease basic of law. Next is, we must follow the law or your mistakes will threaten other people life.
Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws.
